September 29, 2009 - Burglary of Vehicles
There have been a recent string of burglaries to cars/trucks in the area of the duckpond. Joggers and other people have left their vehicles parked and when they return a window has been smashed out and property taken from the car. These burglaries are occurring at different hours of the day.
Do not park your vehicles in areas that are off the beaten path. Leave valuables at home or put your purses and other items locked up in the trunk. Keep your vehicles locked at all times.
Report suspicious vehicles or people and if you are concerned, call UTPB Police at 432-552-2786.
October 7, 2009 (Wednesday) - TEXAS NIGHT OUT
UTPB Police Department held its 2nd Annual Texas/Campus Night Out at Parker Ranch House on Tuesday night. Several organizations helped in providing free food, activities, and educational opportunities for students. The Physical plant cooked hot dogs and hamburgers, Stop DWI showed videos and described the effects of alcohol, Crime Stoppers provided give-aways, James Whitmire provided music , there were golf cart DWI's, Sheriff's office K-9 unit, Fire Department, and Student Services provided the food.
We thank all the organizations for helping with the activities and thanks to all the students for coming and eating for free!!!
