Officer Richard McKee began his law enforcement career in 1992 with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. After serving with that agency for one year he moved to Midland and was employed by the Midland Police Department from 1993 until 1998. While with MPD officer McKee served as a Field Training Officer, worked on the Department’s Bicycle Patrol Program and was also a member of the SWAT team.
Prior to coming to the UTPB Police Department Officer McKee worked for the Ector County Sheriff’s Office as an investigator. In addition he also was a member o f that agency’s SWAT team as well as a training officer.
Officer McKee obtained a BA in history from UTPB in 2004 and a MS in Criminal Justice Administration from UTPB in 2007. He holds a Master Peace Officer Certification as well as being a certified instructor and firearms instructor. Officer McKee currently serves as a Field Training Officer as well as the department’s firearms instructor.
