Officer Gary Peek

Officer Peek started his law enforcement career in 1970 as a Law Enforcement Specialist in the United States Air Force. His days in the Air Force were spent patrolling exotic places like the beach of Andersen AFB in Guam, Thailand, and West Texas. Officer Peek attended Odessa College after separating from the Air Force. He graduated with a degree in Emergency Medical Technology and became a Paramedic.

Officer Peek worked for several years in a chemical research laboratory and longed to get back into law enforcement. He found his way back by going to work for the Odessa Fire Department’s Fire Marshal’s Office as a Inspector/Fire Investigator. In 1987 Officer Peek was appointed to be the Radiological Officer for the City of Odessa, City of Goldsmith, and Ector County. He fulfilled that function as well as that of Sr. Arson Investigator until his retirement from the City of Odessa in December of 2002. Officer Peek was awarded his Master Peace Officer Certification as well as a instructor certification from TCLOSE. He also holds certifications as an Fire/Arson Investigator, Fire Inspector, and Fire Education Instructor.
Officer Peek started his career with the Ector County Sheriff's Office just two weeks after his retirement from the City.  He worked as a deputy patrolling the streets of Ector County until he resigned to come to work for UTPB PD on April 6, 2009.
