Application and Room Assignments
Students requesting Student Housing must first complete and sign a student housing application form.
Applications may be filed at the Student Housing Office before acceptance to the University due to rooms being assigned on a first come first served basis. Students who delay in requesting housing cannot be assured of a room assignment.
Students requesting a specific accommodation or roommate/s must provide this information on the application form and both parties must request each other.
A $200 security deposit is required with the application to reserve a room in Student Housing.
Student Housing Contract
The contract is an agreement to provide housing accommodations on the University campus to the student subject to the stated terms and conditions.
The contract is offered on the condition that the student will be accepted for admission to the University. The offering of a Student Housing contract does not guarantee or indicate that the student has been admitted to the University. Acceptance as a student at the University is acknowledged only through the Office of Admissions. Applicants not admitted to the University will receive a full refund of the deposit.
Only full-time students at the University are eligible to live in Student Housing. To meet this requirement, undergraduate students must be registered for a minimum of twelve semester credit hours in the fall and spring semesters. Graduate students must be registered for a minimum of nine semester credit hours in the fall and spring semesters. Undergraduate and graduate students must be registered for six semester hours for the Summer term to be eligible to live in campus housing (Registration for six hours of thesis credit will satisfy the full-time student requirements). Any exceptions to this requirement are subject to approval by the University's Vice President of Business Affairs. Undergraduate and graduate students may wave the six semester hours for the summer term requirement by completed the summer term exemption form at the Student Housing Office.
Cancellation Provision
The contract is binding and the student and/or guarantor shall be responsible for the full amount of charges for the contract period. The contract period is for an academic year (fall and spring semesters) and will be automatically renewed on a annual basis unless either party gives written notice of termination at least 30 days before the end of the contract period. Refunds will be less any charges for damages to the premises or applicable charges pursuant to the contract, as follows
An applicant may cancel the signed contract and recover the $200 security deposit if written notice of cancellation is filed with the Student Housing Office at least 45 days prior to the move-in date.
Failure to register or complete withdrawal by the student from the University will result in the forfeiture of the $200 security deposit
The University reserves the right to terminate the contract of a resident for failure to abide by the terms and conditions of the contract, additional Student Housing information, the University General Information catalog, the Regent’s Rules and Regulations or other University rules and regulations or whose actions are disruptive to the use and enjoyment of other residents (eviction notice will be served). The student will pay standard room charges through the check out day and will forfeit the security deposit.
If eviction notice is served for actions that are disruptive to the use and enjoyment of other residents, the resident/s evicted will not be allowed to visit at Student Housing.
Academic dismissal from the University will result in the termination of the contract and the forfeiture of the $200 security deposit.
