TOP 10 TIPS TO HOSTING A SUCCESSFUL EVENT
10. Don't even ask if you can put foam on the Mesa Deck ramp & "surf" down it on cardboard squares, sleds, etc.! The answer will always be "NO"!!
9. Remember that there are certain organizations and agencies that have very strict and, sometimes, strange rules that we as a University must follow!
8. If Physical Plant says "NO" to a certain event, keep in mind that we are not trying to be mean or hateful - it might be that the event you hope to have would break several rules in some governmental agency's code book.
7. If you will need transportation for your event - for example, to pick-up entertainers at the airport, to transport students or equipment - call Cindy Luna (x2771) or Annette Ornelas (x2765) to reserve an expeditin or full-sized van.
6. Choose events that appeal to your target audience.
5. Check with Rey Lascano (x2556) to see if your event qualifies for Continuing Education Credits.
4. Speak with the Police Department about security needs for your event. It can take up to 3 weeks to schedule police officers to work your event.
3. Schedule a meeting with Cindy Luna (x2771) to go over details for your event. Well-planned events run smoother and cost less money!
2. Student Organizat ions fill out the Room Reservation Request Form to Sara Primera at Student Life. Everyone else can get their administrative assistants to go online to school dude and fill out a room reservation and then fax (x2770) all set-up diagrams to Physical Plant as soon as your event has been approved.
And the number #1 way to make sure you have a terrific event ------
