Teacher Education

The University of Texas of the Permian Basin invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Teacher Education, available beginning spring or fall 2010. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and post-baccalaureate teacher education courses, supervising practicum and student teaching experiences, conducting and publishing scholarly research, and providing service to the university and the profession.

Required qualifications: Doctorate or ABD in curriculum and instruction; three years of K-12 teaching experience; strong interpersonal skills; evidence of potential for effective scholarship, teaching, and service.

Preferred Qualifications: Successful university-level teaching; experience supervising student teachers; background in math, science, or social studies; experience or desire to teach online; and knowledge of NCATE accreditation process.
