The University of Texas of the Permian Basin invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Special Education, available for spring or fall 2010. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, supervising practicum and student teaching experiences, conducting and publishing scholarly research, and providing service to the university and the community.
Required qualifications: Doctorate in special education (ABD considered, with stipulations); three years preK-12 special education teaching experience in public schools subject to the rules and regulation of IDEA; demonstrated potential for effective teaching and scholarship; strong interpersonal skills; experience or the desire to teach courses online; and certified or eligible to be certified in special education. Candidates must also demonstrate a commitment to university service and the ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students and our public school partners.
Preferred qualifications: Focus and teaching experience in behavior disorders and/or educational diagnostics/assessment.
