The University of Texas of the Permian Basin invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in Educational Leadership (rank open), to begin as early as Spring 2010. Responsibilities include teaching in programs leading to a M.A. in educational leadership and a cooperative Ed.D. in educational leadership (offered in cooperation with The University of Texas at San Antonio), and in certification programs for the principalship and superintendency; conducting and publishing scholarly research and seeking external funding for such research; advising students and guiding their research; serving on and co-chairing doctoral committees as part of the cooperative Ed.D.; and providing service to the department, school, and university.
Required qualifications: (1) an earned doctorate in educational leadership/administration or a related field, (2) demonstrated teaching effectiveness, (3) demonstrated potential to conduct and publish scholarly research, and (4) experience with students from culturally diverse backgrounds. For appointment at the associate or full professor rank, additional required qualifications include: (1) evidence of classroom effectiveness at the graduate level, and (2) an established research agenda, including publications that are commensurate with the expectations for that rank.
Preferred qualifications: (1) experience in P-12 schools as a building level or district level administrator, (2) experience teaching in higher education, (3) experience in serving on doctoral dissertation committees, and (4) experience or the desire to teach via alternative delivery modes. For appointment at the associate or full professor rank, additional preferred qualifications include experience chairing doctoral dissertation committees.
